Mike McDonald tied with Hale Irwin @ the 1990 US Open championship @ Medinah and went into an 18 hole playoff after bogeying the 72nd hole. Again, he bogeyed the 90th hole (18th) and now went into a sudden death playoff for the 1990 us open championship. Hale Irwin birdied the 91st hole and won the 1990 us open national championship, after Mike had a putt both times to win the national championship. This was Hale's 3rd us open championship.
